　　Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind.

　　青春不是年华，而是心境；

　　It is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees.

　　青春不是桃面、丹唇、柔膝，

　　It is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, vigor of the emotions;

　　而是深沉的意志、宏伟的想象、炽热的`感情；

　　It is the freshness of the deep spring of life.

　　青春是生命的深泉在涌流。

　　Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity,

　　青春气贯长虹，勇锐盖过怯弱，

　　of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease.

　　进去压倒苟安，如此锐气，

　　This often exits in a man of 60, more than a boy of 20.

　　二十后生有之，六旬男子则更多见。

　　nobody grows merely by the number of years;we grow old by deserting our ideas.

　　年年有加，并非垂老；理想丢弃，方堕暮年。

　　Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.

　　岁月悠悠，衰微只及肌肤；热忱抛却，颓唐必至灵魂。

　　Worry, fear, self-distrust1 bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

　　烦忧、惶恐、丧失自信，定使心灵扭曲，意气如灰。

　　Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonders,

　　the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living.

　　In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station;

　　so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from infinite,

　　so long as you are young.

　　When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with the snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism,

　　一旦天线倒塌，锐气被冰雪覆盖，玩世不恭、自暴自弃油然而生，

　　then you've grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up,

　　几十年方二十，实已垂老矣；

　　to catch waves of optimism, there's hope you may die young at 80.

　　然则只要竖起天线，捕捉乐观的信号，你就有望在八十高龄告别尘寰时仍觉得年轻。

　　good morning, ladies and gentlemen.

　　Tday my topic is the 2014 youth olympic games. we all know that nanjing was selected to hold the 2014 youth olympic games in feb 11th 2011 . as a native citizen of nanjing, i felt extremely excitied and prouded when i first heard this great event. by the mean time, i began to ask myself, as a host of this city, what shall we do to welcome young friends from all over the world?

　　In my opinion. firstly, spoken english is far more important than all other difficulties. learning a language takes a long time and a lot of hardship, it's not easy. so can we get most of nanjing people to speak english before 2014? it needs us to try and practice very hard.

　　Secondly, as a citizen of nanjing, i will use my enthusiasm and smile to greet every foreign friends from all over the world, and to show off our nanjingers’ friendly and hospitable spirit so that every foreign friends will know the city by the faces. and do my best to help them, for example, to be a little translator and to help foreigners when they ask the way. let them know china by the behaviors of us.

　　Lastly, i would like to learn more about nanjing's olympic and for the future to our foreign friends knowing more about our beautiful nanjing, as well as the long history and splendid culture, i would like to encourage my classmates to study together and promote environmental awareness for the nanjing youth olympic games.in a word, with the slogan that “grow with yog!” ,we should do anything we can to hold the great game.

　　This year, there are many movies about in honor of people’s fading youth, the movies are very popular by the audience. Suddenly the topic about youth becomes a hot topic, many people collect the symbol things which stand for their youth, they are remembering their youth. For the young, they you enjoying the beautiful lifetime, while for the old, they are just recalling it. On my opinion, youth is nothing to do with the age, we can enjoy the youth all the time. The movies recall people’s memory, if people are active, they can be young forever, there is no need to look back on the memory. When people get older, they can live as the young, they don’t have to be act as the old, people get old when they think they are old. There is a famous song Forever Young, it reminds people to keep young at heart.

　　今年，有很多电影关于纪念人们的逝去的青春，这些电影很受观众的欢迎。突然间关于青春的.话题成为了热点，很多人收集象征他们青春的东西来纪念青春。对于年轻人来说，他们正在享受着美好年华，对于老人家来说，他们在回忆。在我看来，青春和年纪无关，我们可以一直年轻。电影唤起了人们的记忆，如果人们活跃，他们可以永远年轻，没有必要去回望记忆。当人们变老时，他们也可以像年轻人那样活着，没有必要像老人家那样，当人们觉得老了，他们就老了。有一首出名的歌叫 “永远年轻”，它提醒人们保持心理年轻。
